On Wednesday night, Nintendo gave a slightly longer look at Pikmin 4, after previously showing a short snippet. In addition, the company announced that the game will be released this summer, on July 21.

The video’s description tells a little more about what the game has to offer.
– Map a mysterious planet of curious plant-like Pikmin that come in different types in Pikmin 4 – such as the brand new Ice Pikmin! The independent dog Oatchi will also help to overcome major challenges, the description says.
Pikmin 4 was first unveiled in 2015, so it has taken Nintendo eight years to complete the game’s development run.
The shelf predecessor
Pikmin 3 also made a comeback on the Nintendo Switch some time ago, then under the name Pikmin 3 Deluxe.
The revamped edition was well received by our reviewer, who thought the experience still held up very well even now.
– The deluxe edition is at least as good as it was when it was released seven years ago. The game looked amazing in 2013, and it looks even better this time around. The wealth of detail is high, from the seeds on the strawberries, to the structure in the leaves and the splash in the water, wrote Håvard Hofstad Ruud at the time.
