This is going to hurt for PS Extra and Premium subscribers. A total of 32 games will leave the catalog in May 2023 with a very big PlayStation exclusive.

Since the launch of the new formulas some time ago, Sony has been going all out. The PS Plus Extra and Premium are taking more and more shape. Each month, the Japanese firm continues to inflate the catalog with great blows of additions. Lately, the publisher has been hitting hard, particularly with the arrival of in-house games including Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection or Horizon Forbidden West. However, the PS5 and PS4 exclusives will not remain in the catalog indefinitely, which seems to surprise many players. Sony has indeed confirmed the May 2023 PlayStation Plus Extra releases. There are going to be big starts.

May 2023 PlayStation Plus Extra releases

Launched last June, the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium continue to expand. The top-of-the-range formula was initially disappointing for lack of real retro games, the Japanese firm having relied above all on remasters of old productions and PS3 titles. Feedback from subscribers has since been heard, with the classics slowly but surely starting to arrive. For the month of April, Sony is betting above all on games from Bethesda for its two offers. Wolfenstein, the old Doom or even Dishonored are just a few of the many names that will arrive on April 18, 2023. As with the competition, however, these new arrivals are compensated by releases. It will be pretty quiet for this month, but the publisher has already announced the 32 games that will be leaving PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium in May 2023.

A real carnage compared to the usual schedule with twice as many outings as what we have been used to. Two names stand out, however: Resident Evil and Marvel’s Spider-Man Game of the Year Edition. The PlayStation exclusive will indeed leave the PS Plus Extra in its two versions, namely the one with all the DLCs and the classic version. Strangely, subscribers seemed convinced that games from Sony studios would remain in the catalog indefinitely and many messages of disappointment quickly went around the web after this announcement.
