The year is almost over, but there’s still time to Prime Video announce good news for horror fans; X: Mark of Deathby director Ti West, premiered on streaming this Saturday, December 31.
The release of the film on the platform is an opportunity for fans of the genre to say goodbye to 2022 by watching a feature that was considered by many to be one of the best of that season.
Starred by Mia Goth (nymphomaniac), Martin Henderson (virgin river), Brittany Snow (Halt and Catch Fire), Kid Cudi (Don’t Look Up), Owen Campbell (dark times), Stephen Ure (Hunter) and Jenna Ortega (the Wandinha by Tim Burton), the film earned an astonishing 94% positive reviews from experts on Rotten Tomatoes. With the public, the film also did not look ugly and was approved by 75% of viewers.
This success was also replicated in pearl — the prequel to the story — which was released shortly thereafter and garnered a 91% approval rating from expert critics. Unfortunately, the film has not yet reached streamings in Brazil.
Ti West now works at MaXXXinewhich will be the sequence of X: Mark of Death and will close the trilogy.
What is X: Mark of Death about?
just called X, in its original title, the feature tells the story of a group of actors and producers of erotic films who travel to Texas to shoot a new feature in the city. They rent a house that is isolated in the middle of what appears to be a farm and, when they arrive at the place, they find an elderly couple who introduce themselves as the owners.
From then on, strange things start to happen and they realize that the elderly can be much more dangerous than they imagined.
Merging suspense, killings and eroticism, the feature was inspired by the aesthetics of independent films from the 1970s to tell this story.
