Police in Middletown, Connecticut are searching for a person accused of smearing feces on several houses and cars in the city this week.
The police department said they were initially called to a Prospect Street home Tuesday to report vandalism. The caller told authorities that someone covered their cars with food, but none of the vehicles were damaged.
The caller also told police that their door handles were stained with feces several months ago. Officers then responded to a home on Liberty Street for a report of a door smeared with feces, according to police.
On Wednesday, police were notified of another similar incident on Grove Street. Police said a racial slur on the rear window of a private car was also smeared with fecal matter.
The following day officers were called to the High Street for another incident involving feces in a private vehicle and at the front door of a house.
Another incident occurred Thursday on Liberty Street. The feces was reportedly smeared on the front porch window of a home, according to police. None of the callers were able to identify the suspect.
Police said each victim had a Pride flag prominently displayed on their property, but it’s unclear if the vandalism is related to that. No Gay Pride flags were damaged or vandalized, according to authorities.
