Tragedy on the Colorado River: Woman loses her life after capsizing her raft

GRAND COUNTY, Colorado – A woman lost her life in a tragic accident when her raft capsized in the Colorado River on June 25.

The incident took place around 12:48 pm near Radium Campground, in unincorporated Grand County.

After receiving a report about the capsized raft, emergency dispatch services rushed to the scene. They discovered a 51-year-old woman who was unresponsive and promptly rescued her from the water.

Despite efforts by Grand County officials to save her life, they were unfortunately unsuccessful and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.

The coroner’s office said it is working closely with the victim’s family, who are residents of the Kremmling area, to provide them with the necessary support at this difficult time. The woman’s identity, as well as the cause and manner of her death, will be revealed by the coroner at the appropriate time.

This tragic incident has left the local community in shock and it is expected that the authorities will continue to investigate the details of the accident to gain a full understanding of what occurred.
