There must also be room for good news, the Dortmund police believe and report an incident on the A1 between the Kamener Kreuz and the Dortmund-Unna Kreuz: A woman from the Münsterland was traveling there on the afternoon of February 9th. Suddenly her engine blocked, then he gave up completely. The car slowed down, rolled out – in the left lane.
Luck in disguise: A retaining strip opened up on the left side. The woman could stop there between the lanes, but not leave the car. Because the other cars and trucks drove past her on the left and right.
Breakdown on A1: Police officers stopped traffic
The woman dialed 911. Two police officers from the highway police station in Kamen helped her. They slowed and stopped traffic, police said. Then they towed the broken-down car on the right-hand lane to the Unna exit and then to a parking lot. Everything happened calmly, in a friendly and respectful manner. Therefore, there was praise for the two police officers: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank these two great police officers once again for their level-headed, friendly, attentive, respectful and reassuring behavior and actions,” the woman said.
The cause of the dangerous car breakdown was a broken timing chain.
