Police: Shooting involving federal agents leaves one injured in Alexandria

One person was injured after a shooting in Alexandria, Virginia, in which a federal agent was allegedly involved, according to the city’s Police Department.

Authorities reported around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday that there is a moderate police presence in the 3500 block of Richmond Highway (Route 1) in response to a “federal law enforcement involved shooting.”

No information on who opened fire or why was not immediately available. Telemundo 44 is now heading to the scene.

The affected block in the Potomac Yard area includes a busy highway, homes and a shopping center.
