The leadership of President Nayib Bukele stands out as an example and an inspiration beyond the Salvadoran borders, due to the remarkable results of government policies.
The website specialized in electoral issues and real-time news, Datoworld, published the results of the survey it carried out on Twitter to give users the option to choose between four leaders who have majority approval in their nations.
The consultation took around 24 hours and gave the President the winner, by a wide margin: he achieved 77% of the preferences among international users. He obtained seven times more votes than the president of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle, who came in second place (11%). Then followed the options of “others” (8%) and the ruler of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader (4%).
The War against gangs and the Territorial Control Plan have made El Salvador the safest country in Latin America. After being the world capital of crime, with the highest murder rate in the world, it is now an example of effectiveness in security policies with a rate of 10.3 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants.
It is precisely the political will of President Bukele to weaken and nullify the gangs that has helped his work to be recognized by citizens in other latitudes who also want greater determination from their governments to attack criminal groups.
