A boxer with the initials LDDI who is being investigated for having tried to kill a policeman who helped a woman who was a victim of gender violence in Nelson will continue in preventive detention.

The deprivation of liberty was extended by the judge of the Preparatory Criminal Investigation (IPP), Gustavo Urdiales, in a hearing to review precautionary measures that took place in the city of Santa Fe.

The Special Homicide Prosecutor Unit of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office 1 is in charge of the investigation. In this sense, it indicated that “the Defense requested alternative measures to preventive detention that we opposed,” and assessed that “the magistrate considered them insufficient to mitigate the procedural dangers still in force.”

Key

The illegal act was on Sunday, September 11 of last year around 7:00 in the morning. The MPA reported that “based on a call received at the Nelson 15th police station, the police officer who was the victim and another agent went to a house where upon arrival they heard the screams of a woman asking for help.”

At the hearing it was noted that “the members of the security force entered the property and noticed that the defendant was assaulting his partner.” In this regard, it was stated that “when the uniformed man approached, the investigated man tried to take away his regulation weapon.”

The Prosecutor’s Office specified that “noting that he could not get hold of the weapon, the defendant bit the policeman and took it in the way known as a ‘key’ in order to suffocate him,” and added that “while he was attacking him, he expressed his willingness to take his life.”

“Although the victim fainted and became unconscious as a result of the attack, he survived thanks to the actions of his colleague,” it was remarked. “The police agent pounced on her partner and managed to get the investigated to stop the illegal conduct,” she assured.

“Then, the uniformed woman requested reinforcements and, finally, the victim was given medical attention at the local hospital, where it was found that she had been injured in different parts of her body,” it was detailed.

Criminal classification

The defendant is investigated as the author of an attempted homicide (for having been against a public official in the exercise of his duties).
