42 and 32 years in prison were the highest sentences achieved by the Prosecutor’s Office for William Adalberto Munguía Ruíz and Daniel Amaya Sandoval, two of four gang members who kidnapped a couple, who they beat, stole their belongings, and sexually assaulted the woman until she was raped. . The events were committed on January 29, 2022, on the main street of the Azacualpa canton, in the municipality of Armenia, department of Sonsonate.
The couple was traveling on a motorcycle and decided to buy some pupusas in the mentioned canton and in the place they observed a suspicious subject -Sandoval, a Chinese alias-, who from one moment to the next was accompanied by another subject who carried a firearm -Ruíz, alias choreja-.
They both approached the couple and beat them with their guns, at the same time they demanded that they hand over the DUI, then forced them to walk to a sugar cane to beat them and took the opportunity to sexually assault the woman and then rape her.
After the rape and the injuries caused to both, they were stripped of all their belongings; upon verifying that the couple was from the area, they were let go.
Immediately, the victims decided to file a complaint with the police and they were taken to the hospital on the spot to be treated.
The Prosecutor’s Office demonstrated with abundant evidence the guilt of the 18 gang members and imposed the following sentences on them: William Adalberto Munguía Ruíz, 42 years in prison, for the crimes of deprivation of liberty, sexual assault, rape and robbery (all aggravated) ; Daniel Amaya Sandoval, 32 years in prison, for deprivation of liberty, sexual assault and aggravated rape.
While the terrorists Remberto Antonio Cuellar Chávez, alias Pambo; Mario Ernesto Henríquez Chávez, alias Nijayote, were sentenced to 8 years in prison each for the crime of deprivation of liberty.
