Lionel Messi (35) still cannot bring himself to extend his expiring contract with Paris St. Germain. According to the sports newspaper ‘L’Équipe’, father and advisor Jorge Messi met again with the PSG management yesterday, Wednesday, but no agreement was reached.
In Paris they are still confident of finding a solution, further rounds of talks are planned in the near future – but Messi will not accept the offer to extend it until 2024. That agrees with FT-Information from France: According to the current status, the Argentine world champion tends to say goodbye in the summer.
Target Miami?
Messi is particularly displeased with internal quarrels such as the headline-grabbing cabin dispute. The fact that buddy Neymar (31) is to be sold and Kylian Mbappé (24) is given an even greater exceptional position is a thorn in the side of the left foot.
And so a separation after two years is no longer unlikely. There is always speculation that Messi could then return to FC Barcelona. The hottest lead in a potential transfer is currently in the United States to Inter Miami.
