At the start of the year, the world leader in aeronautical data analysis, Cirium, established new rankings. These relate to the most punctual airports, the most punctual airlines, but also the safest.
As a reminder, during 2022, airlines, but also international airports, had difficulty anticipating the sudden recovery in travel demand. Indeed, during this past year, many air carriers have been faced with disruptions and delays impacting their flight schedules.
The most punctual airlines: who is at the top of this ranking?
According to Cirium, despite this difficult recovery and the lack of staff, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, several airlines have excelled. In particular, in terms of punctuality, operational complexity. But also, the ability of the carrier to limit the impact of flight disruptions on its travelers.
The Cirium ranking elected Azul Brazilian Airlines as the world leader in punctuality. But also, Delta in North America, Azul in Latin America, Thai AirAsia in Asia-Pacific and Oman Air for the Middle East and Africa region.
Air Algérie out of the ranking of the most punctual airlines in Africa
Regarding Cirium’s ranking for the African continent and the Middle East, this specialist in aeronautical analysis ranked Oman Air in first position, Royal Jordanian in 2nd and in 3rd place is Kuwait Airways.

The ranking of the most punctual airlines, at the level of these regions, also includes Emirates, Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Middle East Airlines, Royal Air Maroc, EL AL and Saudia to conclude this top 10. Unfortunately, Air Algérie does not appear in this Cirium ranking.
As a reminder, in a previous ranking established by AirNav, the national airline, Air Algérie is among the air carriers having recorded a very high percentage of delayed flights. In particular, during the last summer season 2022, with a rate of 20.39% for the previous month of July only. Ranking fourth in terms of delays.
