Union Berlin is apparently reacting to Julian Ryerson’s (25) move to Borussia Dortmund. As transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports, right-back Josip Juranovic (27) is about to move to the Alte Försterei. Talks are well advanced and negotiations with Celtic Glasgow are in the final stages.
According to the Scottish media, a base fee of eight million euros plus up to three million bonuses should flow as a transfer fee. With a total volume of eleven million euros, Juranovic would be a new record transfer from the Irons. The previous record holder is Taiwo Awoniyi, who was signed by Liverpool FC for 8.5 million in 2021.
At the World Cup in Qatar, Juranovic was one of the best right-backs in the tournament and took third place with his Croatians. Then there were rumors of interest from FC Barcelona and FC Chelsea. Accordingly, the bid for Union would be a real coup. Not much is missing before the deal is fixed.
