Thomas Tuchel would like to see reinforcements for FC Bayern in two positions in particular. As reported by ‘Sport Bild’, the coach has two transfer requests in mind: a new centre-forward and a six-man strong in tackles and ball security.
In the center of the attack, a lot has recently been focused on the expensive candidates Victor Osimhen (24 / SSC Napoli) and Randal Kolo Muani (24 / Eintracht Frankfurt). According to ‘Sport Bild’, the Munich supervisory board is ready to approve a record transfer for a new number nine.
Kovacic an option?
On the six, Joshua Kimmich (28) and Leon Goretzka (28) are going through a low form. Konrad Laimer (25) comes from RB Leipzig for the new season. But Tuchel wants another alternative. In this context, ‘Sport Bild’ mentions Mateo Kovacic (28) from Chelsea as an option.
Tuchel knows the Croatian third in the World Cup very well from the days they spent together in London. Kovacic is very strong in one-on-ones and extremely secure with the ball – but not a deep clearer in front of the defense, more like a number eight. What makes the native Austrian interesting is the fact that he speaks fluent German and his contract with Chelsea, which expires in 2024.
