Released in August 2021, Road 96 was an excellent surprise made by the French from DigixArt. This narrative road trip, first released on Nintendo Switch and PC, then arrived on Xbox and PlayStation last summer and it has brought this unique game to an even wider audience. Those who enjoyed their first trip will be delighted since a Road 96 prequel is coming this spring.
The stand-alone prequel Road 96: Mile 0 arrives on April 4
Aware of the success of Road 96, DigixArt has not rested on its laurels and has been working on Road 96: Mile 0 all this time. The title will take you to White Sands and allow you to find Zoe who was present in Road 96 but also Kaito, a new character from Lost in Harmony, a musical game also developed by DigixArt. Yoan Fanise, CEO of DigixArt, says this:
“In Mile 0, we wanted to show where Zoe came from and why she left her comfortable life behind. However, we didn’t want to do it in a conventional way, we opted for a more delirious way, with musical sequences full of metaphors, in which you go through Zoe and Kaito’s convictions and doubts. The funny thing is that YOU decide how you want them to evolve”.
The developers have found a way to mix two very different universes by mixing a narrative adventure and a game of musical reflexes. Music will therefore have a prominent place in this prequel with a soundtrack composed by the synthwave group The Midnight.
Road 96: Mile 0 will be released on April 4 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC and Nintendo Switch.
