At the start of the year, a game released almost 3 years ago is making a comeback in an edition optimized for next-gen consoles, and it’s Journey to The Savage Planet. The wacky title developed by Typhoon Studios and published by 505 Games is back in 2023 with optimized versions that are full of new features.

Journey to the Savage Planet Employee of the Month Edition arrives February 14

After presenting its DLC Hot Garbage and being released on Switch, the action title Journey to the Savage Planet therefore returns this year despite the many setbacks experienced internally over the past three years. As a reminder, the initial developer, Typhoon Studios, had been acquired by Stadia. However, Stadia is now so feet underground and Alex Hutchinson, former leader of Typhoon, took the opportunity to found the new Racoon Logic studio and buy the intellectual property rights of Journey to the Savage Planet from Google. Going back to the Employee of the Month Edition of Journey to the Savage Planet, it will be available for free for all owners of the base game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. In addition, players who have not purchased the Hot Garbage DLC at the time will therefore have it for free in this upgrade at no additional cost.

In terms of optimization, the game will offer 4K 60 FPS graphics (30 FPS for the Series S) with a choice of a Performance mode or a Graphics mode as in many games. There will also be additions related to Martin Tweed’s videos among others. Note, however, that your old saves cannot be transferred in this upgrade.

Journey to the Savage Planet Employee of the Month Edition will be released on February 14 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 (nothing on PC) and will be accessible free of charge for owners of the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version, or for the modest sum of €29.99.
