In addition, the minister considered that Algeria is unique and is distinguished by Saharan tourism throughout the world, and for this reason the locomotive of the development, enhancement and promotion of tourism in Algeria has been made on the basis of Saharan tourism.

Stressing that the number of tourists from the beginning of the season until the beginning of last December reached about 2,728 tourists. Adding that the Paris-Djanet air line has been opened will encourage tourists to flock to the region via this direct air route.

Saharan tourism: a new visa for foreigners
On December 28, 2022, the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government announced the introduction of a new type of visa for foreign tourists wishing to visit southern Algeria.
