London, Eng.- Prince Harry’s memoir, whose most explosive passages against the Royal Family have already been widely reported by the media, went on sale worldwide on Tuesday.

In the UK, the first copies of the book were sold shortly after midnight in some bookstores that opened just for the occasion.

Chris Imafidon, who works in the education sector, was first in line. “I want to understand his perspective,” he told AFP, before leaving with three copies under his arm.

Sasha Pursell, a 27-year-old waitress, who managed to “avoid” leaks about the book’s content, explains that she wants to read Enrique’s memoirs with “a fresh look” to make her “own opinion.” “It’s a part of history,” she adds, she “very intrigued” to learn about the childhood of the youngest son of Charles III and the late Princess Diana.

The revelations of Enrique’s book

The official launch of the autobiography, translated into 15 languages, was scheduled for this Tuesday, but a large part of the content leaked when it was mistakenly put on sale early in Spain.

The deep divisions in the Royal Family are exposed in the book, which has plunged the historic institution into a deep crisis, just four months after the death of Elizabeth II.

Guillermo, the heir to the throne, his “beloved brother and sworn enemy”, is his main target. But King Carlos III, is not spared from the accusations either.

Buckingham Palace has not responded to the Duke of Sussex’s statements. The Sunday Times quoted people close to Prince William as saying he is “sad” and “burning inside” but “will keep quiet for the good of his family and the Country.”

The British could thus show their boredom and lack of interest in the revelations of Enrique and his wife Meghan Markle, omnipresent in the media for weeks.

According to a YouGov survey, 64 percent of Britons have a negative image of King Charles III’s youngest son.
