Investigators were looking for two girls, ages 14 and 16, when they made a chilling discovery on a rural property in Oklahoma.

Police in Oklahoma have found seven bodies while searching for two missing teenagers. Investigators found the bodies on a rural property near the small town of Henryetta, Sheriff Eddy Rice said in a press conference on Monday.

The police had previously issued a missing person’s report in which the two teenagers, two girls aged 14 and 16, and a 39-year-old man were also wanted. “We believe we’ve found the individuals, we’re still awaiting confirmation,” Sheriff Rice said. The coroner has yet to identify the victims.

Little information about the incident so far

According to US media, the man is said to be a convicted sex offender. Rice declined to provide details about the location of the bodies or any weapons that may have been found on the property.

The police initially did not give any further details about the dead and the background. “We believe there is no further threat to the community,” Rice said.

The town of Henryetta has around 6,000 inhabitants and is located about 145 kilometers east of Oklahoma City in the interior of the USA.
