Thomas Reis has sort of confirmed the sale of Florent Mollet (31) to FC Nantes. The Schalke 04 coach explained the transfer to WAZ: “Sometimes there are economic reasons.” Mollet moves back to France for 1.5 million euros. In the summer he came from HSC Montpellier for 500,000 euros.

“We lose a creative player, but you always have to see two sides”continues Reis, “Of course everything is at stake for Schalke 04, but with Mollet you noticed that the family played a role, that maybe she wasn’t so happy anymore. We tried everything there. It would have been much more urgent, but sometimes there are things that hinder performance.”

Skarke “in the juice”

Mollet made eleven appearances and scored one goal in the first part of the season. With his sale, S04 now has more leeway in the transfer market. Skarke’s commitment to Schalke’s Bundesliga restart on Saturday (3:30 p.m.) at Eintracht Frankfurt is even “conceivable”. Meanwhile, Schalke could get another new player on board, according to ‘WAZ’. The local newspaper did not mention names.
