FC Schalke 04 have been looking for a clearer in front of the defense for a long time, and now they have found him. Éder Balanta from Club Brugge finds his way to Gelsenkirchen. The deal is a loan until the end of the season. Both clubs are silent about a possible purchase option.

Balanta was only second choice for Brugge this season. The 29-year-old started three times in 13 competitive games.
