Blowing snow and poor visibility: It wasn’t really comfortable in the spectator stands at the Hahnenkamm race near Kitzbühel today. The ranks cleared noticeably before the end of the race, but one could not be prevented from enjoying: Arnold Schwarzenegger (75), ex-politician, actor and ex-bodybuilder, also brought girlfriend and daughter. He told reporters: “I love Austria.”
The night before, Schwarzenegger had set the tone at the Weißwurst meal in Going in front of 2,800 guests. The former governor of California declared the festival the best white sausage party in the world and flattered the landlord Balthasar Hauser: “Balthasar, you are the greatest.” Schwarzenegger is a regular guest at the Hahnenkamm race. There was room for 25,000 spectators along the route.
There, along with many other celebrities, was the singer DJ Ötzi, who looked at the steep slope with great respect. “They’re all total heroes to me,” he said. According to DJ Ötzi, he had also registered for a celebrity race for a good cause, although only the lowest part of the route was to be used.
