On screen, the “Terminator” knows no pain. In private, however, Hollywood giant Arnold Schwarzenegger shows his feelings.
The Netflix documentary “Arnold” will be released on June 7th. In it, the action hero and later governor of California (2003 to 2011) talks about his meteoric rise from bodybuilding champion to screen icon, but also about moments he regrets.
Arnold Schwarzenegger: “People will remember my success and my mistakes.” The native Austrian is hard on himself: “I caused my family grief. And I’m going to have to live with that for the rest of my life.”
What is meant is the cheating scandal that led to the divorce of Arnie and John F. Kennedy’s niece Maria Shriver (67) in 2011 after 25 years of marriage: the actor had fathered son Joseph (25 today) with a housekeeper. Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger, his ex Maria, the four legitimate children and his illegitimate son have a relatively good relationship.
Schwarzenegger Junior emulates his famous dad in terms of sport and has built muscle mountains. It seems only a matter of time before the son gets his first bigger roles in Hollywood.
The star can even joke about marriage, recently congratulated his youth idol Freddie Quinn (91) on the wedding in BILD: “Congratulations! Getting married at 91 is the right age. Then you know for sure that there is no such thing as divorce.”
Like Schwarzenegger, Freddy Quinn is from Austria. The ‘Terminator’ has been a fan of Quinn’s music (‘Come back soon’ boy) since he was young and was delighted to receive a personal congratulations from the great entertainer on his 75th birthday last year.
The Netflix series “Arnold” will show a total of three episodes about the life of the famous ex-Mister Olympia. It traces the career of the boy from Graz, who made it to the top of Hollywood with diligence, ambition and sporting commitment. And then in a second career as a politician, became one of the most popular Democrats in the USA.
In the meantime, the cinema hero is more often in front of the camera again and has steered his private life, which is ready for film, on calm paths.
