The Scream series has always been known for making use of well-known slasher films, but always showing a certain sense of humor. Ghost face is now considered an icon of the horror film world and Wes Craven, the creator of the series, has become a cult. After he starred in the very first film a real classic could create, the quality of the three successors was no longer quite close to the first work from 1997. With the Reboot of the series, which was released last year under the simple name Scream, was able to lure some fans back into the cinemas. And in a few weeks the sequel with the telling title Scream 6 will start. Now the running time for the horror film has become known and it is record-breaking: you have never been scared with Ghostface for so long!

Meanwhile, Paramount has confirmed that the running time of the latest horror slasher is a full two hours and three minutes! This is a new record for the series, so far no scream has been as long as the sixth. The very first Scream, for example, shares its running time of one hour and 51 minutes with Scream 4. Part 2 was exactly two hours long and Scream 3 and 5 both ran at one hour and 54 minutes.
So the latest flick is a real chunk and we can scare ourselves with Ghostface for an extra long time. At the same time, you should always keep in mind that the length of a film doesn’t necessarily say anything about its quality (that’s what she said). This time we’re going to New York, so we’re seeing the killer with the ghost mask for the first time outside of the well-known small town of Woodsboro, California.
Scream 6 release date announced
Meanwhile, the start date of Scream 6 is known. We can creep our way through New York from March 9, 2023. And the latest trailer already gives a foretaste of what awaits us in the film.
According to Jenna Ortega, best known for her role in the Netflix hit Wednesday, the film is set to be “100 times bloodier” than its predecessors.
