On the last 30th, Sebrae-SP announced the Ginga Afrotech Hub, which aims to bring more diversity to the innovation ecosystem, meet specific needs and welcome black people with projects and businesses in technology and science. 130 vacancies are open for the three programs: Prototype, Immerse and Scientists.

According to Daiane Almeida, consultant at ABStartups, “the programs for technology projects and businesses were designed to serve people who today are outside the radar of acceleration programs, who choose to support more mature startups”. With this, the initiative aims to increase the number of this profile of startups led by black people.

Data from the BlackRocks Startups platform reveal that only 25.1% of entrepreneurs declared themselves to be black or brown. “We want to impact the community, create a sense of belonging and contribute to business growth,” says Lucas Lima, FIPT consultant, a partner foundation of Sebrae-SP.
