Bludenz. “The best conditions for young people in Bludenz” – the city of Bludenz has committed itself to this credo.

During her recent visit to Bludenz, Secretary of State for Youth Claudia Plakolm saw that something can be shown.

Insights into the professional and leisure life of young people were part of the program. First the way led to the youth center of the Open Youth Work Bludenz (OJAB), the Villa K., where managing director Michael Lienher led through the house. In addition to the State Secretary, Mayor Simon Tschann, City Councilor for Youth Catherine Muther and City Councilor Cenk Dogan also took part in the tour.

“Our open youth work is in Villa K and mobile for the teenagers – with a wide range of leisure programs, sports activities, workshops and advice,” said Mayor Simon Tschann, describing the range of services offered by OJAB. A formal cooperation agreement between the city and the OJAB was only recently concluded. “A long-term commitment to open youth work and a confirmation of the excellent work in the interests of young people,” said the city councilors in unison.

This was followed by the Getzner company’s New Year’s reception, which was dedicated to the apprentices. The up-and-coming specialists proved that in addition to making damask fabrics, they are also very good at making soup, schnitzel and the like. The supporting program also came from the apprentices.

According to regional population forecasts, Bludenz is the only town in Vorarlberg where the proportion of the population under the age of 15 will increase over the next three decades. It is all the more important that investments are made in infrastructure for young people. That also happens: this year 600,000 euros will flow into the spark7 youth and leisure center Unterstein. The conversion and extension of the VS Mitte is in full swing, and investments are also being made in future topics such as clean mobility and security.

“A cool visit to a city that is really thinking about something for its young people, whether for work or leisure. Young politicians are actually being made here for the future,” said Secretary of State for Youth Claudia Plakolm.
