MEXICO CITY (appro).- This Wednesday, June 14, school activities will be suspended in public schools of Basic Education in Mexico City.

This was announced in a statement by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), in which it establishes that activities will resume on Thursday.

The reason for suspension is that teaching, administrative and education support staff will participate in the elections called by sections 9, 10 and 11 of the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE).

“The Ministry of Public Education (SEP), through the Federal Educational Authority in Mexico City (AEFCM), informs that, on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, school activities will be suspended in all public Basic Education schools. from Mexico City,” says the SEP statement.

“The above, because the teaching, administrative and education support staff, in full exercise of their labor rights, will participate in the elections of the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE), called by sections 9, 10 and 11 from the capital of the country”, he detailed.

Face-to-face school activities will resume on Thursday, June 15 in all public schools at the preschool, primary, and secondary levels at the corresponding times, shifts, and modalities, concluded the release.
