Belgrade, Serbia.- At least eight people were killed and 13 others wounded in a shooting attack in a town near Belgrade, the second such massacre in Serbia in two days, state television reported.

The attacker used an automatic weapon to fire randomly at people near the town of Mladenovac, some 50 kilometers south of the capital, RTS reported early Friday local time.

The assailant opened fire from a moving vehicle and then fled.

A strong security device and numerous ambulances moved to the place, flown over by police helicopters.

Local media later reported that the suspect in the attack had been arrested.

The incident came just a day after a 13-year-old student killed eight classmates and a security guard at a Belgrade primary school, an attack that shocked the country.

In April 2013, a resident of the Mladenovac region shot dead 13 family members and neighbours.
