London England.- A seven-year-old girl was left in critical condition at a hospital after a shooting this Saturday against a Catholic church in London that left five others injured, police said.

The faithful, who were participating in a mass in homage to a woman and her daughter killed in November, fled the Catholic church amid shouts as the shots began.

Initial investigations indicate that the shots were fired from a moving vehicle that subsequently drove away from the site, London Police said in a statement.

The priest leading the service, Jeremy Trood, told the PA news agency that it was a mass for Sara Sanchez, 20, and her mother, who died in November.

The young woman died of leukemia and her mother died shortly after from a blood clot upon arriving at London’s Heathrow airport from Colombia. At the moment, her nationality was not reported.

“I heard a powerful explosion and thought that was not normal, and the next minute everyone was screaming,” a neighbor told PA.

In addition to the seven-year-old girl, four women and another 12-year-old girl were injured in the incident near Euston railway station.

The other best left the hospital after being treated for a minor leg injury.
