Shooting suspect arrested outside Miami nightclub

This Monday, Ramiro Morales Hernández, 38, who is accused of shooting two men outside a nightclub in Little Havana, appeared in court.

The defendant faces two counts of attempted murder after a person remains in critical condition at the hospital.

Authorities said the shooting that sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries took place around midnight Sunday in the 22nd Avenue and 11th Street area of ​​northwest Miami.

This Monday in bail court, it was said of the defendant: “he shot one of the victims in the head, then he got into his truck, hit several cars and left… It seems that he did know the victim because the night before that he had bought the victim a few drinks.”

Witnesses at the scene said the shots were “impressive”. Michele Erejo says that she was walking towards the car with her friend when they heard the shots. “There were two of them and she and I ran and we couldn’t see more.”

Those who witnessed the violent event said that it all started with a dispute inside the El Palenque nightclub. The altercation escalated and in addition to the beatings, one person suffered a gunshot wound.

“Five people chased a man and beat him,” said Erejo, a witness to what happened. “We saw it and heard it, but afterward we didn’t see what happened to the person.”

El Palenque nightclub has a clientele mostly from the Latino community. This Saturday he held his Mexican party.

The defendant remains in custody at the TGK county jail on $125,000 bail and the possibility of house arrest with a GPS monitor, although he also has an arrest warrant for two other separate cases.
