Silvino Báez, father of Fernando, the young man murdered at the exit of a Villa Gesell bowling alley in January 2020, affirmed that he was “quite relieved” by the sentences that the Justice handed down against the eight rugbiers, but considered that the judges “were fell short with the conviction” of three of the defendants.

“It is very good (the ruling of the Oral Criminal Court No. 1 of Dolores),” said the man, minutes after hearing the court decision.

In statements to the press, Fernando Báez Sosa’s father complained about the 15-year prison sentence received by Ayrton Violaz, Blas Cinalli and Lucas Pertossi, for being considered secondary participants in the crime.

“I think that with the other three defendants they fell short with the sentence. I was surprised, I expected 25 (years) or life. The doctors are going to appeal and they are going to go to Cassation,” he said.

When asked about how the judicial resolution of the case had fallen on him, Silvino Báez expressed: “I am quite relieved.”
