Coco Lee, one of the most prestigious singers on the Asian music scene, has died at the age of 48 after three days in a coma. The artist, especially famous for being the Only Chinese performer to perform at an Oscars galalost her life during the last dawn in a Hong Kong hospital where she remained admitted.
“It is with great sadness that we come to share the most devastating news: Coco has suffered from depression for a few years, but her condition has deteriorated drastically in recent months,” her sisters announced on their respective social networks. In her opinion, the work of Lee enabled “open new horizons for Chinese singers on the international music scene”.
Back in the year 2000, when he was still 25 years old, Lee performed at a ceremony marked by the film success of American Beautywhich won five statuettes and three of the most important (actor, director and film).
