Between 2022 and so far this year, more than 260 water meters were stolen in the city of Santa Fe. Taking into account the lapse of time elapsed, it is reflected that these episodes occur every other day.

In detail, around 230 meters were stolen last year. So far in 2023, 60 more devices have been stolen.

When these devices are stolen, a loss is generated on the public highway and a series of setbacks, not only due to the costs of the device for the company, but also the procedures associated with deregistering and registering.

From the entity they stress the importance of reporting this type of event, since during 2022 calls to 911 made it possible to “detect and disrupt subjects who were transporting meters on a motorcycle as a result of theft.”

Total, the number of meters over total users of Aguas Santafesinas is around 27%. If only technically suitable properties are weighted -since not all of them are-, the percentage increases and exceeds 30%.
