The youtubeur Squeezie has formalized the second edition of the GP Explorer, the Formula 4 race with the stars of the web. He announced the date, the participants, the circuit, the price, the number of tickets, etc. We take stock of this highly anticipated event.

Last year, YouTuber Squeezie broke an audience record with his GP Explorer event, also called Grand Prix Explorer. On October 8, 2022, 22 web stars competed in teams of 2 in a Formula 4 race on the Bugatti circuit of Le Mans. The event, broadcast live on Twitch, broke the French record for simultaneous viewing on the platform. Over a million viewers attended it live.

The GP Explorer 2 was no secret, as Squeezie concluded his video of the event with: ” see you next year “. The youtuber formalized the second edition of the GP Explorer on May 3. The next Formula 4 race with the stars of the web will take place September 9, 2023 on the same circuit and with the same rules. The pilots will therefore compete on the Bugatti Le Mans circuit.

24 web stars will participate in GP Explorer 2 on September 9, 2023

While last year’s event featured 22 drivers for 11 teams, the GP Explorer 2 will have 24 drivers for 12 teams. Squeezie clarified that half of them have already participated in the first edition, but the duos will not all be identical. For example, the youtuber Seb will no longer be in a duet with Sofyan Boudouni, but with the streamer Maghla. For his part, Squeezie will participate again with Gotaga. A mystery duo will be revealed in a few weeks. The duos already announced for the GP Explorer 2 are:

  • Squeezie & Gotaga ;
  • Etienne Mustache & Amixem;
  • Seb & Maghla ;
  • Kaatsup & LeBouseuh ;
  • Baghera Jones & Horty ;
  • Mister V & Theo Juice ;
  • Depielo & Manon Lanza;
  • Djilsi & Theodort ;
  • Pierre Charbrier & Sylvain Levy from the Vilebrequin chain (the winners of the 1st GP Explorer);
  • AnaOnAir & Maxime Biaggi ;
  • Billy (he will soon announce his teammate in a dedicated video).

Squeezie made an appointment May 24 to discover the sponsors of each duo and Formula 4 liveries. The ticket office will also open on 24 May. While the first GP Explorer had sold 40,000 seats, the GP Explorer 2 will offer this year 60,000 places to watch the race at the Bugatti circuit. Ticket prices have yet to be confirmed, but last year you had to spend €42 to attend. For the GP Explorer 2, the price of places should therefore be around 50 €.

Finally, Squeezie probably has some surprises in store for GP Explorer fans. The Formula 4 race will take place on September 9, which is a weekend when no Formula 1 races are scheduled. It would therefore not be impossible that some pilots like Esteban Ocon demonstrate the same day.
