We don’t generally share revenue details from games on these lists, but to give you an idea of their success we’ve categorized them into groups. Games appear in groups in random order:
- Platinum: 1st – 12th
- Gold: 13th – 24th
- Silver: 25th – 50th
- Bronze: 51st – 100th
To generate these lists, we looked at all dates from January 1, 2022 to December 18, 2022.
new hits
This list takes into account all games released in 2022, from which we calculate the most popular top sellers based on sales from the first two weeks after release. You can see the top novelties of each month in our new charts.
Most Played
This list includes all games that will have at least 40,000 concurrent players in 2022. Games are categorized by the highest number of simultaneous players. Short-term maximums due to raffles, free weekends, etc. have been excluded.
Fresh out of Early Access
Games that left Early Access in 2022 are measured by their gross sales during the Early Access period and after full release.
Steamdeck
This list contains the most played games on the Steam Deck as measured by daily active players in 2022. This includes games with Deck Verified status Verified and Playable.
The best VR games
Best VR Games list is calculated by total sales in 2022. While many titles offer additional VR modes and experiences, we’ve limited this list to VR-only games to highlight those designed exclusively for VR headsets.
