VfB Stuttgart and Arminia Bielefeld are canceling Mateo Klimowicz’s loan, which lasted until the end of the season. After just 117 minutes in the second division, the 22-year-old attacking player continues on to Mexico. Klimowicz is loaned to the first division club Atlético de San Luis for one year. The season in the Central American country begins in early January.

The Mexicans are said to have secured a purchase option worth three million euros. The German U21 European champion with Argentinian roots is under contract in Stuttgart until the summer of 2025. “For Mateo it was primarily about competition practice. We found a very good solution with Atlético San Luis.”says VfB sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth.
