The Subway fast food chain will be offering fresh and freshly cut meats in all its branches in the United States as part of a strategy to attract more diners with quality products.
The company revealed the expansion of its menu with a new category called Deli Heroes in which it worked for two years. This was one of the most complex changes for the brand in its 20,000 stores in the nation including Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
They invested around $80 million in meats that they provided to all of their American franchisees. All of this was achieved thanks to consumer feedback in focus groups.
These are the new offerings:
Ultimate Deli Sub is the delicious line of new Deli Heroes that includes the Titan Turkey, Grand Slam Ham and the beast. The Titan Turkey and Grand Slam Ham have 33% more meat than traditional sandwiches, and the Beast has half a pound of meat. All Deli Heroes come with double cheese, served on Subway’s freshly baked bread with the optimal combination of sauces and vegetables.
These are the cuts of fresh meat:
- Titan Turkey (#15): turkey, double provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and mayonnaise. Served on Italian artisan bread.
- Grand Slam Ham (#99): Ham, double provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and mayonnaise. Served on Italian artisan bread.
- Garlic Roast Beef (#17): Roast beef, double provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and roasted garlic aioli. Served on Italian artisan bread.
- The Beast (#30): Pepperoni, salami, turkey, ham, roast beef, double provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, mayonnaise, and MVP vinaigrette. Served on Italian artisan bread.
Subway will put its new slicers to the test by offering up to 1 million free six-inch Deli Heroes at participating restaurants nationwide on Tuesday, July 11, between 10 am and noon local time.
