The actor was cast as Lex Luthor after having lost the role of Superman for David Corenswet.
This will be the first time we see Superman e Lex Luthor “equivalents” in cinema: while Corenswet is 30 years old and 1.93 m tall, Hoult is 33 years old and 1.90 m tall.
Filming for the blockbuster is scheduled to begin during the first quarter of 2024, and will be shot in different parts of the world.
Superman: Legacy will make the DCU’s big debut in theaters, and will be followed by other titles already ordered for the big screen, such as Batman: The Brave and the Bold e Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

Superman: Legacy have direction and script James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Suicide Squad), and is scheduled for July 11, 2025.
According to the official description, the film will focus on the hero trying to balance his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way. He’s kindness in a world that thinks it’s old-fashioned.
