Criticism of the government and Ebba Busch has been harsh. Now ten billion kroner is to be paid out in a second electricity subsidy, no later than June 9. This means that the government can blow off steam – at least for the time being, according to SVT’s political commentator Elisabeth Marmorstein.

– The storm is not over, but it has subsided, she says in Morgonstudion.

The delay in the electricity support for households has led to a debate about broken election promises, and Energy and Industry Minister Ebba Busch has been criticized on several points.

– The twists and turns around the electricity price support have given her a nightmare start as a minister. It is a contributing reason why support for Ebba Busch has fallen, says Elisabeth Marmorstein.

– It is also a clear example of how difficult it is to go from syllabic opposition politician to responsible minister.

This time the support goes to all households with their own electricity contracts in the country, including those in northern Sweden in electricity areas 1 and 2. It should compensate for the electricity prices in November and December last year. The support is financed with bottleneck fees that have mainly been paid to Svenska kraftnät by electricity customers in southern Sweden.

The current support is estimated to amount to approximately ten billion kroner, the first is assumed to have comprised approximately 17 billion kroner.
