The President Counselor of National Electoral Institute (INE), Guadalupe Taddei Zavala, asked all areas of the institute to begin preparing their real budget for 2024, and promised to defend the amounts they define, as well as all the positions that currently make up the INE.
By presiding over the first session of the Executive General Boardbefore the heads of the Executive Directorates and Technical Units of the Institute, Taddei guaranteed: “the certainty that we will defend until the end and until the last minute what we establish in the budget, based on numbers and with the certainty that it is of resources that are really needed.
The president counselor asked them to prepare their respective budget requests in accordance with the regulations and considering the recommendations of the Internal Control Body, in order to build a rational, reasonable and evidence-based Draft Budget for 2024 to favor the optimization of resources. public.
“We have to defend our budget, we have to defend our programs, our projects, but the budget must give the real amount of what is needed,” he established.
For this, he asked them to stick to the Institutional Planning Model and not to repeat mistakes of the past in the elaboration of the budget, “it is necessary to emphasize the importance that it be a rational, reasonable exercise, based on evidence and applying -of course- the optimization of resources”, he insisted.
Guadalupe Taddei Zavala recalled that, in the meeting on Wednesday with the members of the Political Coordination Board (jucopo) of the Chamber of Deputiesthe commitment was not to fall into the untidy practices of the public service that consist of requesting resources in excess .
He announced that in the next session of the General Council the Temporary Budget Committee 2024 and all forecasts will be taken regarding what can happen with “Plan B” of the electoral reform.
“I put before you the will to respect and defend the structure of the Institute as it is right now for the 2024 electoral process, we are going to stay there, and that is why we have to be making these expense forecasts that allow us to ensure that the structure we have it is strong, solid and we need it to carry out the process”, he stated.

Heading the First Coordination Meeting of the INE-OPL National Electoral System 2023-2024, accompanied by other advisors, Taddei Zavala said: “we are convinced that the permanence of local institutes is indisputable due to the particularities that each of the states has , whose responsibility they assume with an indisputable will and force”.
He urged local institutes to “walk towards the strengthening of the National Electoral System, sharing in a collegiate manner the battles of the organization of local electoral processes.”
