TC Teach: how to post on Instagram from your computer (PC)

Anyone who has been an Instagram user for a long time knows (or has heard of it) that the platform did not allow posting from the computer. Previously, this was only possible through third-party tools or with a trick that allowed access to the mobile version of the network in the browser.

But times have changed! Nowadays, the process can already be done through the PC natively, without having to install programs or resort to hacks. However, there are still some limitations on post types.

Until the moment of this tutorial, Instagram does not allow the publication of Stories, Reels or live transmissions through the computer. In addition, it does not allow editing a post that has already been published.

At least, the network already allows the creation of publications in the feed with photos and videos, including carousels, adding filters, clippings, captions, locations, tags and hashtags.

Check the instructions below on how to post. To carry out the process, Instagram itself recommends using the following browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge.

• Go to Instagram from the computer and touch the “Create (+)” located in the sidebar.

• In the new window, click on “Select from computer” to select the desired photos and videos. Alternatively, drag the desired files into the window directly.

• Click on the buttons located at the bottom to make adjustments to the selected images and add more content to the carousel;
  • If you are going to post a video, select the cover that will be displayed in the post, the duration and the sound of the media.
• With everything ready, click on “Advance”.

• Browse among the chosen images and apply, if desired, filters and adjustments;
• With the edits made, click once more on “Advance”.

• Now tag the profiles you want, add a caption and set and fill in the accessibility information and comments;
• With everything ready, click on “To share” to end the post.
