The Chinese company TCL announced the smart glasses at CES 2023 RayNeo X2. These devices feature binocular full-color Micro-LED optical waveguide displays in combination with other new interactive features to bring users never-before-seen augmented reality experiences. To move them the brand new platform Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2.

The real challenge that has been accepted by TCL is to make augmented reality glasses similar to glasses for everyday wear in daily life. In fact, the brand new RayNeo X2 are quite thin and light, but offer many smart featuresas the intelligent navigationthe automatic translation and the photography.

“TCL RayNeo created the world’s first binocular loupe with full color Micro-LED optical waveguide”, he has declared Howie LiCEO of TCL RayNeo. “The technology developed by RayNeo will set the benchmark for future wearable AR innovations, as it presents no compromises in terms of technology, style or ease of use. RayNeo X2 is the new frontier of AR glasses, and we are only at the beginning”.

Regarding the intelligent GPS navigationthe RayNeo X2 smart glasses will allow the user to view landmarks on the display while moving, probably with the name of buildings, monuments and clubs, thus transforming their walks or bike rides into real explorations of the city.

Another really interesting feature is the automatic translationas these new TCL glasses will automatically detect and translate sentences while talking to a foreigner, making subtitles appear on the display.

Regarding the photography, on the other hand, the glasses will allow the wearer to take original first-person photos (but also videos and time-lapses). Everything is then surrounded by intelligent functions such as the image stabilization and from night mode.

A really surprising feature of these smart glasses is the format of the display, it can be seen in fact the high contrast ratio of up to 100,000:1 and the brightness of the image up to 1,000 nits, all this will allow not only to read clearly the writing on the display but to do so even in low light conditions.

“With the launch of TCL RayNeo X2 we seek to build a brilliant and comprehensive AR ecosystem to provide our users with rich content and exciting services. These include a number of original AR games developed by our team.”has declared Howie Li.

In addition to the RayNeo X2, again at CES 2023, the TCL NXTWEAR S. These are other smart glasses equipped with a FULLHD screen that will make the user seem to see a 130-inch screen from four meters away, they also have a new generation 1080p dual Micro OLED display and an unprecedented acoustic phase elimination mode. These glasses, therefore, are ideal for watching movies and multimedia content.

Speaking of availability and prices there is still not much news of these two new products on the Italian market. THE TCL RayNeo X2 will be available to developers in select regions by the end of Q1 2023 and then roll out in select markets. As for the TCL NXTWEAR S, they will be available in selected markets in Europe in the first quarter of 2023.
