Tesla recalls almost 4,000 Cybertrucks due to accelerator

On April 17, Tesla notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the accelerator pedal may become trapped in these Cybertrucks, the futuristic version of Elon Musk’s company.

If the accelerator pedal becomes trapped, its performance and operation “will be affected, which may increase the risk of a collision,” Tesla acknowledged to the agency.

The company will replace or modify the accelerator of units of this model manufactured between November 13, 2023 and April 4, 2024, the agency said, noting that Tesla had received a report from a customer on March 31 warning of the problem. .

No accident reported

The company said it is not aware of any collisions or injuries related to this issue.

Musk has defended the Cybertruck, declaring at a launch event last November that “finally, the future will look like the future!”

The tycoon presented this model in November 2019, but its first deliveries were in December 2023.

He acknowledged that it will take time to increase production, and pointed to 2025 as the year in which 250,000 units per year will be reached.

Earlier this week, Tesla announced that it will lay off more than 10% of its global workforce to address growing competition among electric vehicle manufacturers and slowing demand growth in some markets.
