The board decided to approve going ahead with the search for a winger after the defensive weaknesses exposed by the Cacique in the win against O’Higgins.

Colo Colo finally decided to continue searching for a new right back. Despite the fact that the idea seemed ruled out due to the urgency of adding a central defender to replace Emiliano Amor, the Blanco y Negro board of directors took a turn in the face of the irregular presence of Bruno Gutiérrez and Jeyson Rojas.

The problem is that the albos do not have many alternatives in the transfer market. The winger must be Chilean due to the lack of quota for foreigners and not having added any minutes at the start of the 2022 National Championship. For this reason, the club is aware that it will not be easy to find a replacement for Óscar Opazo.

Unfortunately, Chilean soccer in general lacks full-backs and this is reflected in how they never managed to find a reliable replacement for Mauricio Isla in the national team. That is why the Cacique has such a hard time finding players for that position.

Likewise, there are a couple of alternatives that you can explore, although almost all of them would mean a significant financial outlay.

Raymond Rebolledo

The Universidad Católica winger is one of the names that has appeared in recent hours as a possible reinforcement. In his favor, he already knows how Gustavo Quinteros works, he is young (25 years old), it would not mean a high cost for Colo Colo and he has not yet added minutes in the season.

Although he had a lot of participation in the last crossed titles, he never became undisputed and in the last year he had his least productive season with just 11 games played.

Guillermo Soto

He is a player who appeared in the Cacique’s folder, but they never accelerated efforts for him since the priority was Matías Catalán, who ended up falling due to Talleres’s refusal to release his pass.

In his favor is that he had a good individual year in a competitive league like Argentina, where he played 29 games, is of a profile more similar to that of Opazo and is still at a productive age (29 years). But against it, there is the fact that Huracán bought his pass and they will not let him leave without receiving a significant amount for his transfer.

Matias Fernandez

The former Santiago Wanderers had a great semester as a starter for Independiente del Valle that was proclaimed champion of the Copa Sudamericana, playing 17 games in the last six months. The problem for the albos is that his participation with the Ecuadorians made his market value rise considerably and the player has the option of playing Copa Libertadores with his current club.

john delgado

It is about a player trained in the Monumental pastures who is in a folder of potential reinforcements for the future and who is close to completing a decade playing abroad. Although he started out as a pointer, over the years he adapted to the position of winger or midfielder on the right, a multifunctionality that will always seduce any Colo Colo coach.

He is still at a productive age for a footballer (29 years old), but due to his contract with Paços de Ferreira in Portugal it is almost impossible for the whites to try to sign him.
