Apple’s MacBook Air is expected to grow to 15.5 inches!
There’s really no longer any doubt that the 15-inch MacBook Air exists. All sources point in the same direction. On the other hand, there are still many questions between the release date, the chip that it will integrate or even its price. Professionals in the sector have thus since a few weeks more and more information and now we see what to expect.
Apple had had a 15-inch MacBook Air in its boxes for a long time. Given the number of sources confirming the rumors, it’s almost official. We know it should not integrate the future M3 chip, but an M2 and why a basic M2 Pro, according to 9to5Mac. A possibility that seems surprising given the passive cooling of the MacBook Air which should not change for the 15-inch version.
What will a 15-inch MacBook Air change?
The primary benefit of a larger MacBook Air is more battery space. Autonomy could thus be seen to increase going from 6 p.m. to more than 8 p.m. in video playback.
Analyst Ross Young and Bloomberg are both aiming for a spring release, during the month of April. And for the name it should not be named “Air”, but simply MacBook. At the same time, we learn that a 12-inch MacBook Air is also in the works. It should, however, arrive by the end of 2023, or even the beginning of 2024.
As for the design, it is obvious that it will be a somewhat larger copy of the current 14-inch version.
We can thus imagine a range of Macs that would go from the 13-inch MacBook Air and its M1 chip and its old design at 1099 euros, the 14-inch MacBook Air with M2 at 1399 euros and the 15-inch MacBook M2 at 1499 euros and 15-inch MacBook M2 Pro at 1699 euros. These prices are purely speculative.but should reflect the current reality of lowering prices, as may have been the case with the Mac Mini.
