One of the most snubbed films at the 2023 Oscars was The Woman King, released in September 2022 and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. The action drama was starred by the acclaimed Viola Davis and it was expected that she would receive a nomination in the Best Actress category, or that the work would appear at least in Best Costume Design. But unlike that, the film was snubbed and ended up not being nominated for any category.
