In 2022, the Dacia Sandero once again established itself as the best-selling car to individuals in France, ahead of the Peugeot 208 and Renault Clio.
The favorite car of the French is still her. The Dacia Sandero retained its title of best-selling vehicle to individuals in 2022, with 54,766 units, far ahead of the Peugeot 208, whose success is based more on sales to businesses or rental companies.
Individuals represent 85% of Sandero sales, compared to 35% for the Peugeot 208 and 45% for the Renault Clio.
In the context of the semiconductor crisis, “for lack of cars to deliver, manufacturers favored the most profitable sales, i.e. those to individuals to the detriment of short-term rental companies and companies”, underlines in its press release NGC Data, which compiled these 2022 market figures for the Argus.
While Renault plans to discontinue the Twingo after the current generation, this model still finds itself in the top 10, finishing the year in 7th place.
The Yaris “made in France” seduces individuals
Finally, note the great success of the Toyota Yaris and Yaris Cross, both assembled at the Onnaing plant, near Valenciennes. By combining the sales of these two models (like the Sandero which also takes into account the sales of the Stepway version), the Yaris would thus find itself in second place in the ranking of sales to individuals, with a little more than 34,000 units.
The Dacia Spring, the best-selling electric vehicle to individuals
At the gates of this top 10, we find the Dacia Spring, or the cheapest 100% electric on the market. With 16,527 units in 2022, it logically stands out as the best-selling champion in the category to individuals, ahead of the Tesla Model 3 (12,504 sales), the Peugeot e-208 (10,577 sales) and the Renaut Zoé (8,344 sales). .
