The Embassy of Mexico in the United States confirmed that he did receive an email regarding the alleged letter that the drug trafficker Joaquin El Chapo Guzman addressed the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, for the conditions in which he is imprisoned in the US.

The embassy’s Twitter account revealed that it received an email on January 10 from José Refugio Rodríguez Nuñes, legal representative of El Chapo; however, it was made clear that they did not receive any letter.

“On January 10, this embassy received an email from José Refugio Rodríguez Nuñes, who claims to be the legal representative of Joaquín Guzmán Loera. No letter was received from Mr. Loera”, he communicated.

Meanwhile, it was announced that the mail was turned over to the Chancelleryas it is a matter of its competence.

It was this Tuesday, January 17, that Guzmán Loera’s lawyer in Mexico reported in a telephone interview with Ciro Gómez Leyva that, at the request of his client, he wrote a letter addressed to the president López Obrador to intercede for him in the face of the violation of his human rights in prison ADX Blooms, in Colorado.

It was by virtue of his condition that the founder of the Sinaloa cartel verbally expressed to his lawyer in the United States, Mariel Colon, that he seek the Mexican authorities to be returned to his native country. In turn, Colon communicated with Rodríguez Nuñes, who wrote to the Mexican ambassador to the United States, Esteban Moctezuma— on January 10, but without receiving a response.

“The letter that I sent to the ambassador is emphasizing the conditions in which Joaquín Guzmán was handed over to the US, also that he is suffering a psychological torment and to a certain physical extent”, confirmed the legal representative of the father of the little boys.
