The end of an era: Turn10 Studios will close the online services of Forza Horizon 1 and 2

This week Turn10 Studios, developer of the critically acclaimed games Forza Horizon 1 and Forza Horizon 2, reported that it will close the online services of these two titles at the end of August of this year.

The study argued that given the time elapsed since the release of these games and the low number of players online, they decided to focus on the development of their most recent titles. Forza Horizon 1 was released in 2012, followed by Forza Horizon 2 in 2014.

Although the single player modes of both games will still be available, Turn10 Studios will disable all multiplayer featuressuch as matchmaking, leaderboards, and access to user-created content such as paints, vinyls, and photo setups. This will allow players to enjoy racing offline.

The closure of online services will not affect the single player mode of the games.

The closure of the online services for Forza Horizon 1 and 2 will affect the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions. While existing players will still be able to download and play the content offline, the games will no longer be available for purchase for those who do not own them.

Turn 10 Studios expressed its thanks to the passionate gaming community that has supported gaming for the past decade. The developer evoked the memorable moments where players explored Colorado and southern Europe in the first two titles in the series.

In 2012, Forza Horizon was released for Xbox 360, followed by Forza Horizon 2 in 2014, available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Both games received good reviews. with a score of 8.5 for Forza Horizon and 8 for Forza Horizon 2.
