CDMX.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador advanced possible titles of what he assured will be his last book on politics, since he foresees his work as the end of an Odyssey in which he will make several revelations.

“I’m already preparing, not preparing, I’m thinking about how my last political book is going to be. I’m even thinking about the name: it’s going to be like ‘The End of the Political Journey’, ‘The End of the Odyssey’, something like this,” he said in his morning conference.

López Obrador stated that when the time comes to speak with whoever succeeds him in the Presidency, he will be able to raise his Government’s lags, as he will express in his book.

“There I am going to say many things, what I recommend to do next, but I am not going to deal with that anymore,” he repaired.

The President reiterated that once his six-year term ends in 2024, he will disappear from public life, will not hold any position and will not intervene in meetings or discuss political conversations.

“I retire by handing over the (presidential) band, and retiring for me is synonymous with disappearing.”

“That is to say, I am not going back to political activity, I am already closing a cycle, I am looking for the name of my last book on politics, because I am going to continue writing, because otherwise I could not live,” he explained.

He assured that in addition to writing, he foresees other activities to spend the rest of his life, which he is already thinking about in retirement.

“Imagine how many years in (political) activity, I am psychologically preparing for retirement, so it has to be exercise, reading, writing, I am already preparing for that,” he explained.

The President emphasized that he will not touch on political issues or with his children, once he retires to the ranch inherited by his parents in Palenque, Chiapas. He said he won’t post on social media either.

“No politics, no networks, no participation in congresses, or rallies, or talk about politics, or with my children, they want to talk to me, visit me, I’ll be there in Palenque and we’ll talk, I’m almost going to put there in the entrance of the door: we don’t talk about politics,” he warned.

After his counter-march on November 27, the President defined that the movement he leads is that of “Mexican humanism”, something that he also plans to explain in his latest book.

He promised that afterward he would dedicate three or four years to historical research to gather the necessary bibliography and write about conservative thought in Mexico, as the academic Alfonso Noriega did.
